Hi, Thanks for the AGOL update, it's great to see many of the new features. However, since yesterday, when I edit a legend entry (labels) on a web map, I can't click out of the label without clicking on the 'Ok' button at the foot of the page. This means that if there are several labels to edit I need to click Ok each time (and then return to the legend entry options again). Is this a bug that could be squashed?! Many thanks, Helen

Hi Amber, thank you very much for your reply. It gets me half way there but doesn't quite resolve it. I think I'd need to be able to create a URL to show exactly the tab on the story map and the layers I want to show, but I don't seem to be able to do this so far. This helps with getting to the right tab: Launch a Story Map at a specific place , but can't work out how to view only specific layers and get the zoom level / extent as I'd need it to be.

Hi all, I'm trying to work out if it's possible to hyperlink to another layer in AGOL? I have a point layer, and I want to click on each point to see the catchment for that point, but I can't work out an elegant way of doing so. Any guidance gratefully appreciated! Helen #agol #story maps classic

Just in case anyone else is searching for the same question, I managed to resolve the issue using the ESRI training video here: https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/5ea8a26823e3e30f8d209879/advanced-xlsform-techniques/#! Thanks James Tedrick!

Thanks for sharing this useful guide. I've followed the instructions to automate an email send when a new survey is added - however I can't seem to trigger the same email when a survey is edited - am I missing something? Many thanks, Helen

Hi Zach, Many thanks for your reply. That’s correct, I want people responding to be able to edit existing records. Once edited, I’d like the feature to remain on the map showing the old data associated with it until it has been approved. I’m using a hosted feature service in AGOL. I’ve been looking at this further, and I’m wondering if I’d need to use a duplicate set of fields to hold the edited values, until they’re approved (and when they’re approved copy the values from the duplicated fields back into the original fields?). This seems a bit clunky though? Thanks in advance for any guidance. Helen

Hi all, I'm very new to Survey123 but have searched the forums before posting, so would be grateful for any help! I've got a Survey form set up, integrated with a web map, and I'm following a workflow so that I can get a user to click on a point on the map and follow a hyperlink to edit the data using a Survey123 form. So far so good. What I'm struggling to do is set up a way of approving incoming data. The data will be editable by the general public, so I'm trying to find a way of making edited data 'pending' until it has been approved for publication. Are there any mechanisms for doing this? Many thanks in advance for any help. Helen

Hi, I've been working on a story map using the Map Journal template. I'm now trying to move content from one journal pane to another (the pane is too long and the team want to separate it into two sections). If I copy and paste the text I lose all of the map links and actions that have been set up - is there a better way to do this, then to re-link everything again? Many thanks, Helen

Hi all, I'm transitioning from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro - no experience of Python but would like to learn. I'm trying to run a very simple string function to remove four digits at the end of text field. In ArcMap VB Script I would do the following: Left([FieldName],Len([FieldName])-4) I can't see how to do the same in Python. There seem to be relatively few examples here: Calculate Field examples—Help | ArcGIS Desktop and the link to the build in functions of Python returns a 404 error. Is there a good resource that sets out the functions and arguments for Python in ArcGIS? I have googled but can't find what I'm looking for! Thanks in advance for any help, Helen

Thanks Jimmy, the maps look good, and it's great to know that they're completely automated. I'd be happy to invest some training time in ArcPro if at the end of the day I'm more productive and am still happy with my mapped outputs! (So far I've tried it on one major project and it took sooo long to make basic changes to the maps the computer nearly ended up out the window). Onwards and upwards - hopefully the time and ££ investment will pay off! Thanks for all your help, Helen
