Hi - Here's the utility network scenario: I open a fuse protecting a single phase tap on feeder ABC123. I validate and save the edit, stop editing an update the subnetwork for ABC123. The features I de-energized by opening the fuse still have a subnetwork name of ABC123, even though they are currently not part of any feeder. What am I missing here? Or what other steps do I need to take to have the de-energized features be assigned a subnetwork of 'Unknown'. Thanks in advance for any info. Ed

The UPDM same data has a single regulator in its stations, but what if, in fact, there are actually distinct "operator" and "monitor" regulators along a given line? Is there a benefit to representing both of these pieces of equipment as devices in the model? Thx in advance for any feedback, Ed

I understand the downside of include *many* lines in an aggregated subnetwork line. But, and sorry to be thick here, I just don't see how the asset groups/asset types that *are* included in the aggregated subnetwork line are defined. I *do* see in the subnetwork tier definition the devices to be included, but not the lines to be aggregated.

I can see that. Is this controllable in any way, or is that just the way it works?

I'm building CP subnetworks and noticed that the service lines (and CP wires) have a cpsubnetwork name assigned, but are not included in the subnetwork line geometry. Is this by design? Is there some configuration to the "Update Subnetwork" GP tool that controls this? I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. I'd just like to understand it. Thx, Ed

I found it! My map projection matches the data that I am editing. I had checked this multiple times. HOWEVER, I had several other projections in my Favorites list that were *far* from my current map project. Once I removed these Favorites I was able to update vertices. Holy cow! I don't know why the editor would be looking at the Favorites rather than the assigned projection, but apparently it was. Ed

Hi @MikeMillerGIS - Thanks for this. I tried using this tool, and then discovered another item/question. Running the toolbox errored indicating there was a domain missing in the target UN schema. The domain name was AP_Domain_Networks -- which is present in the asset package but not the UN database created by stage utility network/apply asset package. I had never noticed this, but it seems the only domains present in the UN database are those actually assigned to fields. Is there a step I'm missing to move all other domains (including AP_* domains) from the asset package to the new UN database? (Sorry again for the newbie question) Thx, Ed

Thanks for the reply. The vertices and all other geometry are within the bounds of the ServiceTerritory. Ed

I’ve been trying to track this one down for a while and I’m stumped. Any suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated. The error I’m getting is this when attempting to move or delete a vertex on a line feature in the PipelineLine feature class : We’ve all seen this, or some variation over the years. We try to add a feature whose geometry is outside the defined feature class extent and Arc barks at us. This one *seems* to be different. Here are my steps. I load data into an asset package FGDB based on the UPDM model. Points, lines and annotation. I can modify line geometries in the asset package to my heart’s content. No errors. I then a) Stage Utility Network in a new file geodatabase, b) Apply Asset Package to this new UN database from my asset package, and c) append feature classes from the asset package to the UN database. I’m to a point where there a very few dirty areas, but when editing in the UN geodatabase I consistently get the “Modify vertices failed” error on any line feature. I’ve verified that the spatial references in the asset package and UN db are identical. I’ve also taken these steps: Re-built the spatial index on the PipelineLine feature class. Re-calculated the spatial extent of the PipelineLine class. Note that I can delete a line and create a new line at the same location without error. I can also create, move and delete point features without error. Again, any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Ed

oh... is this possibly due to a bug I saw referenced in another post that says associations can only be imported *after* topology has been enabled?

All - Trying to import am trying to import associations from an asset package and consistently get the error below. When I Google the error it says there is a related bug, but that seems to be for server and I'm working in an FGDB. The associations were exported into a CSV from the C_Associations table in my Asset package and follow conventions in the UPDM sample database. A small sample from this CSV is attached. Any suggestions would, as always, be much appreciated. Thx, Ed

Worked as described. Thanks! Also found that anno expressions don't seems to work in JScript -- but they do in Arcade, so am going to make life simple(r) and stick with Arcade. Ed
