jose, Your question is very hard to answer, without insight investigation on your Intranet and ArcGIS release that you are using … Generally speaking, ArcGIS 10.0 or earlier have bad performance to deal with images hosted at NAS over Network. However, ArcGIS 10.1 or later is fine to connect NAS, which can be up to 80% of network usage within most lately-designed enterprise Intranet network. In the enterprise environment, in fact, the LOW intranet usage is mostly associated with the Intranet architecture and network storage (NAS) that you are connected. For some background, please refer to http://www.nngroup.com/articles/intranet-users-stuck-low-productivity/ And also, for NAS storage, please browse http://www.cnet.com/topics/storage/best-hard-drives-and-storage/network-attached-storage/

Via JavaScript codes, to upload files like KML to the web, pls refer to http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/uploading-files-ajax . ++++++++++++++ As you know, ESRI alredy offers many easy ways (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Explorer…) to upload KML files to ArcGIS Online or Portal for sharing.

Regarding other deterministic interpolation methods like IDW in ArcGIS, please refer to http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/#/Geostatistical_Analyst_example_applications/0031000000pn000000 The link that you provided is good. In my vision, many professionals in geoscience (mining, oil & gas industires) and geomatics/ surveying present very good understanding to make use of Krigging techniques, including estimations and simulations. The reason is that they must take some advanced courses on Geostatistics and Uncertainty analysis... Anyhow, to decide if the sampled data applied to with Kriging methods, some basics should be considered, in particular, modeling ‘covariances’, in order to prove independence of the estimate and error. In other word, if Kriging used, you are required to quantify the spatial 'autocorrelation' among measured points and account for the spatial configuration of the sample points around the prediction location, … (minimum numbers are not necessary, but 'more is better' is true...). So, you need pay attention to the stochastic properties of the random field and the various degrees of stationarity assumed, before which Krigging method is used to model your data… If learning with ArcGIS (Geostatistics Analyst), it is good to follow the tutorial at http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/#/Introduction_to_the_ArcGIS_Geostatistical_Analyst_Tutorial/0031000000nz000000/

sui, The weather data are already via 'maximizing spatial independence among sample locations' over Greater Brisbane landsacape. Advisable to always keep in mind that sampling data (locations) are reliable, not from artificial works. Regardsing Krigging interpolation that you intend to use onto this set of data, generally, you can do so. On Greater Brisbane landsacape, however, it is reasonable to use other methods as well. Personally, those results (GRID or raster surface) from two or more different methods should be very similar.... Pls update your findings, if any...

How do you use the KML in Portal? It looks that you just upload and share KML via the poratl. Is it correct? If so, have you verified your KML file via the Add Item button on the My Content page, before coding? You can also add the KML by referencing the URL of a .kml or .kmz file as an item from the web to test if your KML works with your portal. pls update us.

Thx, Kelly The proxy setting in IE 9 is set up and controlled by the corporate Internet security personnel (not by workstation users). The proxy server is running fine. Kelly, Do you think it would be fine for IE 9 (Print widget), if we request IT to remove the restriction on ArcGIS Online from the company proxy server? If so, what kind of specific justifications (related to the Print widget from Web AppBuilder in ArcGIS Online) should be provided to Internet security to take actions? +++++++++++ It looks that: when the same proxy is applied onto IE 11, the Print widget works; but not works for IE 9… Do anyone else have same scenario?

kelly & paul, Unlike 3D scene (requiring IE 11 or any WebGL-enabled browser like Chrome), the Print widget (not working with IE9) is certainly a bug. Personally, configuring the proxy or not should not be a cause for IE 9 not working (but IE 11 working). +++++++++++ In fact, in most of the organizations, Chrome is not allowed (because of the security issues), and IE 9/10 is still a standard web browser...

Thx, jean-pierre Looking forward to hearing the mid & long-term plan and clear workscope on Pro sooner... In fact, in addition to utilizing IT advances, most ESRI customers expect that Pro can offer/ implement some of 'innovative, even breakthrough' algorithms and data models to tackle the operational and technical challenges, rather than just duplicate whatever desktop ArcGIS 10.x already exist. For example, 3D Printing, Integration of 3D Plant & 3D Utility design models into 3D geospatial platform and G&G data models in geospatial applications
