If understanding correctly, your table in geodatabase does not have any 'Foreign Key - FK', so that it couldn't allows you to link (join, or relate) with one of two existing GIS layers. Is it corrct? If true, you are required to 'manually' create the FK, which ensures that this FK can be refered to one of two existing GIS layers. Pls refer to Relational database - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As mentioned above, if you really want find out where the issue comes, that is, your maps having wrong operation when georefrencing (which were based on wrong references), or others, you have to use your local reference maps to compare/ verify, rather than ESRI basemap.

Firstly, from your snapshot, it only shows some ' inconsistency' along the boundary. If that is true, you should treat your maps as correct ones, rather than relying on ESRI basemaps (like topo). So, to verify if your maps have misalignments against ESRI maps, you should check other features like city roads.... Secondly, if your maps have spatial displacement issue, it is good idea to find and use other local references (Macedonia, Balkan, Italy...) to geo-correct ... Generally speaking, in many areas in the world (especially, mountainous areas or developing nations), georefeencing operations shouldn't reply on ESRI basemap...

Your workflow for scanned airphotos looks practical /working ... On serving your georeferenced imagery (TIFF), in order to download 'individually' from your FTP via index link (footprints) within ArcGIS Online, it is best to do programming. However, you are required to figure out how to effectively manage your georeferenced imagery (TIFF) in FTP server so that users can easily locate and download? organize into the file folder (like Documentum)? via spatially: image service / Mosaic Dataset (ArcGIS Server)? raster catalog (ArcSDE).... For your case, it is nice to try raster catalog in ArcSDE...

gregory, you answered my question almost on Story Maps for collaboration. In addition to the role 'Admin', who can take the onwership of any items anytime, what about the role 'Publisher'? In other word, can the role 'Publisher' take the ownership of some items (if not all) inside Story Maps for editing?

great, gregory, In addition to Story Maps /Map Tours, are any others required to transfer the ownership? What are special considerations so that developers have to transfer the ownership (rather than just granting editing permission like the role “Publisher”)? can you instruct?

nice job with python coding by Xander, Also, nice to use the simple generalization tool called 'Extend Line' at ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) The following simple standalone is copied from the Help # Name: ExtendLine.py # Description: Clean up street centerlines that were digitized without # having set proper snapping environments # import system modules import arcpy from arcpy import env # Set environment settings env.workspace = "C:/data" # Make backup copy of streets feature class, since modification with # the Editing tools below is permanent streets = "majorrds.shp" streetsBackup = "C:/output/Output.gdb/streetsBackup" arcpy.CopyFeatures_management(streets, streetsBackup) # Trim street lines to clean up dangles arcpy.TrimLine_edit(streets, "10 Feet", "KEEP_SHORT") # Extend street lines to clean up dangles arcpy.ExtendLine_edit(streets, "15 Feet", "EXTENSION")

For your case (i.e., from scanned map without geo-coordinates to the map with geo-coordinates), it would be highly recommended to use “geo-referencing”, even though you still can use others such as rectification, calibration, spatial adjustment, etc. (because your audiences will understand, when reading your description…) For last 40 years, in fact, those terms with slight different processes have been gradually become blending, in particular, in GIS. In other word, their implementations from different computer solution vendors look “overlapping” …

Norma, Generally, in raster community (remote sensing and photogrammetry), the process from the scanned map (no coordinates in the map) to ‘geo-referenced’ map is called “georeferencing”. Sometimes, it is very commonly heard as “rectifying”, especially, within GIS community … Personally, both are slightly different, in that the geo-rectification may extend to spatial adjustment for higher accuracy of map (from lower-accuracy geo-referenced map). However, it may be arguable, because ESRI Georeferencing tools also support geo-rectification... So, you can treat both equally in GIS...

Just test some capabilities associated with ‘object-based image classification’ in 10.3 and Pro, including “Segmentation and Classification” with “Generalization” tools. From our experience, when working on mid-accuracy (around 10-m in accuracy) landuse and built-up feature extraction (roads, buildings) from pan-sharpened (1.5-m) SPOT 6 and NON-pan sharpened (1.5-m) Pleiades /GeoEye, the workflow with those tools are very effective and reproducible, in operation. Of course, with pan-sharpened (0.5-m) Pleiades /GeoEye, the accuracy and efficiency are still not comparable to ERDAS Objective. Generally speaking, those latest tools by 10.3 and Pro 1.0 offer the great improvements on this direction… Thanks a lot, raster team…

Dear all, In practice, do you use any effective tools to monitor /diagnose ‘high availability’ computing performance, like Parallel Processing and (load-balancing) cluster computing? As you know, those high performance computing architectures are usually performed as a single computing system, including N nodes (CPU-GPU), shared memory, and /or virtual machines, which should be obviously performed 'unlike' grid computing and cloud computing (saying, SAS® Grid Manager attached below ). For example, the simplest task is to monitor how good /bad the geoprocessing tools from ArcGIS 10.3 and Pro 1.0 use the multiple cores and processors (Environments Settings in ArcGIS is not sufficient to reach the goals). So, nice to have some tools to help us monitor/ manage /diagnose computing performance effectively … Any ideas?
