Hi Mike, One of the reasons that I use ArcMap instead of ArcGIS pro is because many parts of the application were previously built using ArcMap. I will not have a problem transitioning to ArcGIS Pro for building new applications. As far as old ones, I can still use ArcGIS Pro if there is an easy way to upgrade the old ones rather than writing whole new program. Thanks, Manish

Hi, I am trying to build a WPF Desktop app, wherein I am using Local server to consume a geoprocessing package. The idea is to develop an app where I can click at a location, to mark an outlet point, on the map and click the generate button to generate the watershed above the outlet. I tried to follow the sample from https://developers.arcgis.com/net/latest/wpf/sample-code/local-server-geoprocessing/ But not successful in achieving the goal and I get “Job failed” message box. I am attaching the code also. Any help is much appreciated.

According to these links, one can debug a Python script using Visual Studio in ArcGIS Pro. Debug Python code—ArcPy Get Started | ArcGIS Desktop ArcGIS Pro and Python - YouTube I am using ArcGIS pro version 2.5.1 and Visual studio 2019 (16.6.1) . My steps Downloaded the 'Python development' workload to visual studio Pro 2019. Edited my .py file to add some intentional errors for testing. Opened ArcGIS Pro with my tool and my data to be run. Opened my .py file in Visual Studio and added some breakpoints. Attached to process in Visual Studio. See image below: Ran my script tool in ArcGIS Pro. The tool fails in ArcGIS Pro because it has errors but I am not re routed to Visual Studio to see the error line as I expected. I then removed the errors in the code and left only the breakpoints but I still wasn't able to hit the breakpoints. Again, the tool completed without re-routing me back to visual studio. Has anyone been able to successfully debug Python tools using Visual Studio Pro 2019 in ArcGIS Pro 2.5.1?

Can you try the following? - Open the deployment file (`ArcGISLocalServer_100.5.AGSDeployment`) - Set the Pro package to false (`<Package id="Pro" name="ArcGIS Pro Compatible Server" enabled="false">`) - And/or set the ArcMap package to false (`<Package id="ArcMap" name="ArcMap Compatible Server" enabled="false">`). This might solve the problem.

Hi Jake, I have now update the visual studio to 15.9.4 and ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4 and cloned the python environment, but even now I am not able to get the arcpy intellisense to work in visual studio. I have enabled "Use new style intellisense for environments" option in visual studio Tools->Option->Python->Experimental. Help is greatly appreciated.

Kimberly, I have installed local server 100.3.0 on my machine and for the program but the Nuget package for local server downloads 100.3.0.1 on Nuget. So I am not sure how is it referencing to version 100.3.0.
