If you want to create a new polygon then you should use AGSMutablePolygon. AGSMutablePolygon *polygon = [[[AGSMutablePolygon alloc] initWithSpatialReference:[AGSSpatialReference spatialReferenceWithWKID:4326]]autorelease]; [polygon addRingToPolygon]; [polygon addPointToRing:[AGSPoint pointWithX:-143.963 y:-41.866 spatialReference:nil]]; [polygon addPointToRing:[AGSPoint pointWithX:-157.947 y:-21.940 spatialReference:nil]]; [polygon addPointToRing:[AGSPoint pointWithX:-165.336 y:11.767 spatialReference:nil]]; Regards, Nimesh

Seems that your base map or map's spatial reference is "web mercator" or may be something else (not wgs 1984). Please provide more information about all layers in the map and their spatial reference. You can use the AGSGeometryEgnine's project method to project the input (wgs 1984) point to map's spatial reference (self.mapView.spatialReference) and then it'll locate you correctly. Hope this helps! Regards, Nimesh

My bad..:( Indeed, it behaves differently. We'll fix this in the next version of API release. Use a workaround until we fix it. Workaround: If you want to display off all the sub layers of a dynamic service then hide the dynamic service's view instead. When you add a dynamic map service to the map it returns (UIView< AGSLayerView > *). You can use *hidden* property of it. Thanks for reporting. Regards, Nimesh

I would recommend going through Apple's memory management documentation. I rule of thumb is to release (Release or Autorelease) only objects which you own (objects created with Alloc or New keywords). Regards, Nimesh

Instruction to update your existing project to v1.8 is available at following link. The CoreText framework is MISSING in your project. What's new in version 1.8 http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgismobile/10.0/apis/iOS/1.8/concepts/00pw/00pw00000054000000.htm XCode Project Changes CoreText needs to be added to the project's Frameworks. This library is required because the API has added support for TextSymbols with international languages. Eventhough CoreText is only available on iOS 4.0 and later, you can still target devices running an older iOS version (as long as they meet the Device Requirements), in which case, the library won't be used at runtime. Note, this means that you will not be able to display TextSymbols with international languages on older iOS versions. Regards, Nimesh

There is no change in the AGSDynamicMapServiceLayer::visibleLayers from v1.0 to v1.8. I doubt it behaved differently. In the scenario, when you check-off both the layers, the request for AGSDynamicMapServiceLayer::visibleLayers goes with an empty array. You can replicate same with following URL. http://www3.emap.co.il/ArcGIS/rest/services/Clients/bp/MapServer/export?bbox=32.4568142279396%2C30.6979081547618%2C38.0023439572027%2C33.6247155118728&bboxSR=&layers=show%3A&layerdefs=&size=&imageSR=&format=png&transparent=false&dpi=&time=&layerTimeOptions=&f=pjson It throws an error and dynamic layer do not get updated. Hence, you see both the layers. If you want to display off all the sub layers of a dynamic service then hide the dynamic service instead. When you add a dynamic map service to the map it returns (UIView< AGSLayerView > *). You can use hidden property of it. We'll see, if we can improve experience in the case of display off all the sub layers of a dynamic service. Regards, Nimesh

The first and last AGSDirectionGraphic of the routeResult.directions is 0. All, other directions returns length. You can add following line in your nextBtnClicked and prevBtnClicked code to check the values. NSLog(@"length: %.5f",self.currentDirectionGraphic.length); Regards, Nimesh

The same reason of thread...http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/29753-Running-AGSRouteTask-two-times-in-a-row-causes-an-exception-EXC_BAD_ACCESS Once you comment out code lines as following, it'll work. AGSDirectionGraphic *directionsGraphic = [dirArray objectAtIndex:i]; NSString *directionString = directionsGraphic.text; //[directionsGraphic release]; //directionsGraphic = nil; Regards, Nimesh

The crash happens because of over-realeasing. Please comment out code lines as following and you'll be able to execute route task multiple times. AGSDirectionGraphic *directionsGraphic = [dirArray objectAtIndex:i]; NSString *directionString = directionsGraphic.text; //[directionsGraphic release]; //directionsGraphic = nil; The directionsGraphic taken from dirArray is an autoreleased object and you don't need to explicitly release it. I saw, at many places you are releasing autoreleased objects. One of them is stopGraphic. Also, you are releasing a callout template, which will create crash when you tap on the graphic as callout template is released. I would recommend creating a retain properties for callout templates so it'll be available when needed. Hope this helps! Regards, Nimesh
