They were both NVARCHAR. However, one had a field length of 30, and the other had a field length of 37. Initially before trying the versioned view method, I tried analyzing the tables as well as rebuilding indexes. For my spatial view using the versioned view, I kept the query the same as before (i created it using SSMS) but just swapped out the table name to reference the view rather than the base tables. Worked like a charm. The right table is a base table and not a view.

Unfortunately, I'm on 10.5.1 and it's still not fixed, hah. From what I understand, it's not a bug, so I don't know if it'll ever be "fixed". But the method of using the database/versioned view seems to work lightning quick.

Another way I was able to resolve this was using a versioned view as the left table (for a spatial view via a left outer join). The right table can be either view or standard table/feature class. Basically, the layer you're getting the geometry from has to be the versioned view. Even if it's not versioned, you can enable SQL Access through Catalog and still use the view. I think most newer versions of SDE automatically creates the view now anyway.

Hi Quinn, How did you go about rebuilding the config store? I have two machines in my site that are working fine, but when I go to add a third machine to site, I get the error that you encountered. However, my site has a lot of servers and connections that I can't afford to lose. Thanks, Ruchira

Oh yes, you can definitely delete with existing locks, however, deleting the unused domains is just one of the ways I'm trying to declutter our production environment. We're conducting an audit of all the items in the GDB. Deleting unused or archived feature classes/datasets/tables. Then I will deploy your script to remove the domains. My initial plan was to write a script that lists all of the unused domains and then go in manually and delete them myself, but this will save me hours of work! You're a life saver!

Wow, this is great stuff! Thanks, Blake. I will try out your script as well as your SDE maintenance scripts. The main problem with our SDE environment is that we have one production instance for both edits and map services. Hence, hundreds of locks that can't be broken to perform compressions and index rebuilds. I'm in the process of creating a dB replication workflow that'll likely remove some of the load off the instance and free up the database to allow for regular maintenance. Part of that is removing dozens of unused domains. Thanks again and I'll keep you posted. Cheers, Ruch

Hi Blake, Thanks for the great script. A colleague recommended it to perform some long awaited maintenance on our SDE instances and this will be very handy. While running it, however, the script through the following exception: Traceback (most recent call last):

Failed to execute (DeleteDomain). Is there a way to execute this code when the connection being used isn't the owner? Perhaps a way to skip over the domains that don't belong to the current owner. Thanks again, Ruch

Hi Brandon, I've run into this same issue and I'm wondering if you can explain your work around. Essentially, I have to update the attributes within a feature class using SQL Server, however, like you, the data needed to update the feature class (the attributes only) come from another table that's joined one to one. Any guidance would be appreciated. Cheers

Thanks for your reply, Gerado. I'm trying to figure this out for 10.2.2 right now and they still seem to have the applicationName hardcoded. Pretty annoying. We have a large number of users stored in a SQL Server database using SQLServerMembership. I'm able to connect to that database through AGS, however, when I go to add roles/users, it adds it under another applicationID and applicationName. Seems like they can configure a real simple solution to this instead of making us run around all over the web looking for solutions. I will keep you posted if I make any process. Thanks again. Was anyone able to resolve this? I'm trying to change the "applicationName" property to the default asp.net applicationName of "/" that many of the users and roles in our database was made using. However, changing it in the store configuration JSON did not do anything. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, Robert. I think the download option is only available for those who are signed up for the beta program. However, I'm just using the Web App Builder on AGO. I can't configure an app on there the way I want and then download that app to deploy on my own web server. Not that I can see, anyway. Also, I tried implementing your code into the template I downloaded (the webapp template) but still doesn't seem to work. Basically, I modified "webapp\widgets\Coordinate\config.json" to include your code and it doesn't seem to get reflected on my map.

I downloaded a webapp builder template (javascript) that I've placed on my own web server and is running fine. However, I am not able to modify the widgets in the config.json file to the settings that I want. For instance, I want the "Coordinate" widget to have meters instead of feet, however, when I adjust the config.json file in the widget file, these changes aren't reflect. Has anyone encountered this issue? I may be doing it all wrong so if someone can point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated. I read the webapp builder documentation (http://doc.arcgis.com/en/web-appbuilder/extend-apps/coordinate.htm) but can't seem to figure it out. This is the json in the current config file (for the app itself, not just the widget): { "label": "Coordinate", "uri": "widgets/Coordinate/Widget", "position": { "left": 200, "bottom": 20 }, "config": {} } This is the json in the widget config file: { "outputunit": "dms", "spatialReferences": [] } The latter says DMS but the units still show up as feet. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thank you
