Hi Ann, If it is a cached map service, then you will need to use option 2, as the tiles must be created with the labels. This documentation will help explain the authoring considerations for including labels prior to publishing/tile creation: Map authoring considerations—Documentation | ArcGIS for Server -Kelly

Hi Ann, It looks like this layer has been added as a map service. There are two options to get the option to have labels display for this layer: 1. Add this layer at the layer level instead of map service level. For example, add the url with the layer number: https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Recreation/MapServer/0 instead of https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/Recreation/MapServer. This would then be an individual layer from ArcGIS Server map service layer and would support labels. 2. Add the labels prior to publishing the map service so that the labels can be generated by the server. Thanks, Kelly

Hi Ann, You can create labels for features in hosted feature layers, ArcGIS Server feature service layers, individual layers from ArcGIS Server map service layers, CSV on the web, and layers from files in the web map as outlined in this documentation: Create labels—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS You can also set labelling properties during the authouring process when building map services (cached and dynamic) outlined in this documentation. Map authoring considerations—Documentation | ArcGIS for Server Feel free to post the web map if you are having any issues labelling a specific layer. -Kelly

Hello, You can't order layers that have been added directly to the web map when multiple shapefiles are included in a single zip file. If you publish the shapefile as a feature service and then add it to the web map, then you can re-order the layers. You can reorder sub-layers of other data sources, such as dynamic map service layers and feature service layers. -Kelly

Hi Braulio, Each feature is a row in the shapefile. If you exceed 1000 rows, then you will need to be able to publish a feature service, which requires an organizational account. If you don't have an organization account, you can sign up for a free 60 day trial or a developers trial account to try out this functionality. How many features are in your shapefile? If you are uploading a shapefile and storing it as content in ArcGIS Online, you can share the shapefile for others to download and use. Although this wouldn't be used as a web layer, users could use the shapefile in other software products while using ArcGIS Online to share the content. -Kelly

Hi Braulio, Have you published your shapefile as a hosted feature service? In order to view the data from your shape file, it will need to be converted into a format that the web map can read. To do this, you can publish a hosted feature service if you have an ArcGIS Online for Organizations account. If you are using a public account, then you can add a shapefile with less than 1000 features directly to the web map. This will store the features in the web map. -Kelly

Hi Adam, Token based authentication is still supported. The error message indicates that your username and/or password was incorrect. When submitting a username directly to the REST API, as you are, the username is case sensitive. The username is not case-sensitive when submitting through the login prompt to ArcGIS Online. Try checking the case of your username and resubmitting the request. Also, are you submitting this as a post request? This is a requirement for this call. -Kelly

Hi Matt, In order to delete multiple records in a feature service, you will need to submit a request through the rest API. The following link is a sample, using ArcREST to perform this: ArcREST/delete_rows_from_service.py at master · Esri/ArcREST · GitHub Or you can look into making direct rest calls using the apply edits call. -Kelly
