Gaps in linear referencing

A little background...

We do our roadway inventory in Access. This database contians almost 15000 points, some of which are fairly close in milepoint.

I then export the road info into an Excel file. If I use Linear Referencing to display the data as points (using Beginning Mile Point as the point), all points display fine with no errors. But if I display the data as line segments using the next BMP as the End Mile Point for the segment, I am getting a number of errors of "MEASURE EXTENT OUT OF ROUTE MEASURE RANGE" and the segments do not display, leaving gaps in the segments.

I have re-examined my routes and find no problems with them. Can anyone tell me what is happening here?
