Hello,

I am currently geocoding a table with over 12,000 rows of addresses. Is there a way to automatically match addresses with tied candidates ? I have over a thousand tied candidates and automatic matching would be very helpful. I appreciate any help that is given.

Thanks

After you have created the Address Locator (AL) open the AL in ArcCatalog by right-clicking and select Properties.  Then under Geocoding options you should find the setting for Match if best candidates tie and set to Yes.

As an aside- ties are a good tool to qa/qc your matching data.  For example, if you are matching against street centerlines, and get a tie on 1234 Main St, that says that you have an overlap in in range values on at least two segments....

That should just about do it....
