Having the ability to export tiled images from Site Scan Manager would be useful for other users when their area of interest may not be as large as the completed mission area.
@TroyKress could you describe a bit more how these individuals are currently consuming and then using the data and what in particular are they are missing from the existing workflow? There are options to download individual photos, export orthomosaic tiff file, generate sharelinks for the orthomosaic, and publish all of the above to ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
Great comment/idea. Often times there is a need to generate a georeferenced ortho photo of only a portion of an overall site that was captured. This could be due to privacy issues (not wanting to show the entire site), file size issue (wanting to retain the highest quality image for an exhibit but only needing a small portion of the site), etc. Based on the recommendation of 3DR SiteScan staff, I utilize a paid 3rd party software to accomplish this. GeoViewer by Lizardtech allows you to import the georeferenced tiffs generated by SiteScan and then export them as tiled georeferenced images. You can also adjust the resolution when exporting the tiled images. Having this option built into the SiteScan platform would truly make for a seamless experience.
Sorry for the delayed response to this. I was able to create tiles from the overall orthomosaic within ArcGIS Pro, using the geoprocessing tool called Split Raster. This tool allows me to choose how I want the input image (ortho from Site Scan) to be split into tiles, either by Size of Tile, Number of Tiles, or using an existing polygon feature. The Output Format image can be one of several choices; I use Geotiff, which allows other users (such as CAD staff) within my organization easy access to these newly tiled images that are not as large as the original Site Scan ortho. The increases performance in the CAD environment, and I can select which tiles will be used by others.
Thanks @AaronWorley and @TroyKressfor details about your use cases. As Troy mentioned, the Split Raster tool in ArcGIS Pro can accomplish this, though it does require the extra step of publishing or downloading the data initially from Site Scan. Are there places end users need access to the tiled outputs other than CAD software?
