iPadOS 15.4 or 15.4.1 issues with Site Scan Flight are resolved in 4.3.1 update

Update, April 14th 2022: An update to Site Scan Flight for ArcGIS is being released today, it resolves app crash issues on certain iPad models running iPadOS 15.4 or 15.4.1

An update to the Site Scan Flight for ArcGIS iPad application is being released today  This update includes several improvements; most importantly, it resolves app crashes affecting users of certain iPad models running iPadOS 15.4 or 15.4.1. Note that Site Scan LE is still impacted by these app crash issues, an update will be released in the coming weeks.

 

Other enhancements include: 

- Improved RTK base station signal acquisition

- Automatic sensor and lens detection for P1, X7, X5S cameras on the DJI M300 drone

- Resolved issues with airspace advisories and submission of mission area for LAANC authorization requests (Available in US only)

- Support for Shapefile and PDF overlays titled with Japanese characters

- Improved DJI error notifications

- Additional minor bug fixes

 

Known issue: rapidly toggling point cloud layers on and off may result in the app freezing or crashing. A resolution to this issue will be provided in the next update, expected late Q2 2022.

March 31st, 2022 - We have learned that iPadOS 15.4 and 15.4.1 are currently causing the Site Scan Flight for ArcGIS iPad application to malfunction when using certain iPad models. We are actively working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Until then, please do not update your iPadOS to 15.4 or 15.4.1 if you want to continue using Site Scan Flight. 

iPad models known to be affected: 
- iPad Air 4th Generation (2020, A14 Bionic) 
- iPad Air 5th Generation (2022, M1) 
- iPad Pro 11" 3rd Generation (2021, M1) 
- iPad Pro 12.9" 5th Generation (2021, M1) 
- iPad Mini 6th Generation (2021, A15 Bionic) 

2019 and older iPads do not appear to be affected. 

 

If you have already updated your iOS system on one of the affected models, unfortunately Apple does not offer a method to downgrade the operating system. Please know are teams are already working on providing an update resolving this issue, we hope to have it have it available in April. We apologize for the disruption.
