Something for just about everybody... just no direct GIS stuff, but great workshops to introduce people to the scipy stack.

no..my sabbatical is done june 30 and everyone wants a piece of me for the next month...sounds great though

I agree, and I would like to attend some year.  I have always enjoyed the videos from that conference, but I know being there in person would be so much better.  For a taste of what the conference has to offer, last year's sessions are available on YouTube:  SciPy 2015: Scientific Computing with Python Conference.

Yes it would be good to talk with some of the developers instead of trying to decipher the direction things are going from the user groups.
