Does anyone know the alternate ArcPy function or tool for ArcSDE command: sdeversion -o close_state in ArcGIS 10.3 or 10.4

We still need ArcSDE command ---sdeversion -o close_state to close the unclosed states in our versioning database sometime. Can anyone tell me what is the alternate ArcPy function or tool for that command in ArcGIS 10.3 or 10.4 or some functions I can put in Python script? Thanks

None here Alphabetical list of ArcPy functions—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

and if the functionality doesn't exist as a tool in arctoolbox, arcpy and python aren't going to help

Xiaoyue Chen currently this does not exist within the GUI or arcpy module. Instead of looking at the need to close states, can you please elaborate on how open states are being created? When edited via the ArcGIS client, states should be closed following the transaction.

It caused by some hung processes with editing operation. It happened some days but not everyday.

Hi Xiaoyue, have you raised this ArcMap hanging to Esri Technical Support? If not, I would recommend creating a case for investigation into the hanging issue.

Thank you, Christian. We did create a case to ESRI support for the hanging processes three months ago, and the command is one of the solutions for that case. After that, we still see the unusual opening states sometime, I have manually to close them.

I found the case you had previously. I will be reviewing it with some colleagues here and will reach back out to gather more information from you.

Thank you. I would like to make an automatic process to close unusual opening states via python if I have to and it is possible
