I received comments on my GIS submission from a client that I am working with. His comments confused me a bit.
Basically, I am converting CAD to GDB, and doing spatial joints and attaching datasheets to the GDB.
The comment that I received is as follow:
"the submitted GDB has different shape attribute properties. This needs to be standard for all the feature classes in the GDB"
Apparently, the client is opening the attributes table, and checking the properties of the "Shape".
The client attached two screenshots, one for my submitted GDB
and one for how the GDB should look like:
Can anyone help me understand whats the difference between 2 ? and how can I fix this issue?
the first is for a featureclass in a geodatabase and the second is for an SDE source if that makes a difference.
and you were using CAD to Geodatabase—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop and not the legacy tool Import From CAD—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop I assume
Thanks Dan for your response.
I was trying to find the "Import from CAD" tool in ArcGIS and I couldn't, and I really didn't get the difference between the CAD to GeoDatabase tool and the Import From CAD tool after reading the Help page for both.
In the Import From CAD page, they have mentioned that :
I think they mean that this tool is not used anymore?
Yes... with newer versions you use Cad to Geodatabase
