Best web fonts

I'm looking for a font that has an outline. I don't want to use the halo on the labels as the draw time is slower.

I googled outline font and got lots of hits. I don't have any specific recommendations though.

You might try asking the great cartographers on http://www.cartotalk.com/ - there are a number of people there who know a lot about fonts, especially in the context of well-designed maps.
