Hello- I am just getting started with the ArcGIS Imagery for ArcGIS online Pilot today and the first thing I want to do is create a Tile Imagery Layer, but it is grayed out and only Dynamic Imagery Layer is selectable. What am I missing?

Thanks-
Kate

Have you enabled the ArcGIS Image for ArcGIS Online User Type Extension license? As Admin, once that User Type Extension license is enabled, the capabilities should be automatically enabled for the Admin. You only need to create the custom roles for other users.

You can't inhabit two roles at the same tile under the same user account. You could create a new account to test out the permissions. We do this when we want to test how user settings without the administrator permissions.

My understanding is that an Admin has access to all permissions. As an Admin, you may need to assign the extension to yourself (assign licenses), but that you won't need to activate the Role permissions.

For a non-admin account, you would have to both activate the license extension AND adjust the role permissions.
