What programe do you use for image processing?
ENVI is the gold standard in my opinion
Maybe I have to try ENVI too
I use Erdas Imagine
I prefer ERDAS Imagine.
ok
All depends on what you are looking to do and how much you are trying to do. My education was on Envi/Erdas, but the ArcMap tools have come a long way since then.
Erdas Imagine is definitely the way to go for heavy duty processing. If you're using smaller imagery datasets, ENVI is tough to beat. Then, I finish everything in Arc (maps, layers, fusion, etc). We would use whole Worldview or Quickbird frames for our projects, so it was always Imagine. But with smaller point targets, ENVI works great...
ENVI new single window interface can display whole world data. Layout save option (using JSON) is also added. As the GDB is completely supported in ENVI so any GDB raster data can be open in ENVI for information extraction.
For high end image analysis it is better to use ENVI, which has a proven accuracy track record also. Many analysis algorithm like MNF, ICA, Mixture Tuned Match Filtering (MTMF), MF, Adaptive Coherence Estimator, Constraint Energy Minimization, Relative Water depth analysis, spectral analogous tool, Support vector Machine (SVM), Line of Communication, In build tool for vegetation analysis, Radimetric correction tools are unique in ENVI.
ENVI atmospheric correction is also good.
For normal image analysis ArcGIS Image is a good option.
thanks for the answer
