Is there an update on when the fix for ArcGIS Pro, to work with DUO's new Universal Prompt, will be rolled out?
Our institution is planning to upgrade our Single-Sign-On (SSO) workflow to use DUO's new Universal Prompt this Fall semester, and I've heard of other higher-education institutions following that timing as well.
Some universities that have already been through this upgrade discovered that it broke their ability to login to ArcGIS Pro via SSO within the app, using Pro's built-in browser (see
ArcGIS Pro 3.0 login: Duo 2FA fails.) Instead, as a workaround, users need to perform additional steps to login by following Pro's
Sign In Using Browser workflow.
If you are wondering if your institution is using the traditional or universal DUO prompt, below are examples of what they look like here at the University of Michigan. Yours certainly will vary.
Traditional:
Universal:
And, if you are wondering about the "Sign In Using Browser" workflow. The link is located on the Pro login page in the bottom, right. For example, the ArcGIS Pro login dialog looks like this at the University of Michigan:
Note that you can also set "Sign In Using Browser" to be the default via the Portal settings page in Pro by checking the box for "Sign in using browser", or via the registry setting, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ESRI\ArcGIS Online For Pro\SignIn
Thanks!
