I DO understand this is Google Earth oriented, but if you have exported a layer as a KMZ/KML file and opened it in Google Earth you can understand.
I want to see a polyline layer's categories (types of segments) individually in Google Earth. I categorized the layer in ArcGIS 10.1, used a custom Export to KML/Google Maps Engine file, and brought the layer into Google Earth. It came in fine--could select the categories of segements, individually, BUT the labels for the categories came in separately and required manual manipulation (turn on and off, and it was guesswork as to which segment they were associated with).
Is there something I can do on the ArcGIS side to prevent this? Or is there a functionality in Google Earth or setting I need to know about?
