Job Description:
Cloudpoint Geospatial is looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to support a wide range of project tasks as we help to solve our clients’ problems with GIS. The ideal candidate will have prior experience creating custom mapping products based on client data specifications, maintaining and updating geospatial mapping databases, spatial data analysis using a variety of GIS software and tools, and the development and execution of automated production workflows. Because this position will be responsible for providing solutions to complex GIS requests, prospective candidates shall also display professionalism in interfacing with clients and be able to keep organized and thorough notes, and work well independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Daily utilization of ArcGIS Pro and extensions, such as Data Interoperability, Network Analyst, Publisher, and Data Reviewer, for the production of mapping products, data cleanup and data conversion
- Producing and maintaining spatial data sets and mapping layers, and providing analysis using various GIS methods and tools
- Engaging customers to determine requirements, propose solutions and assisting with implementation
- Assisting with development of quality assurance and performing quality control to ensure a high degree of data consistency, integrity, and accuracy
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in physical or natural science, geography, engineering, planning, computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
- Four years of full time experience using Esri technologies to solve complex geospatial problems
- GIS Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications
- Ability to learn new hardware and software components
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Utility Network, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience working in local government, utilities, or asset management
- Demonstrated skills in database programming languages, such as Python, to create custom GIS scripts, tools, and applications for various data processing requirements
- Proficiency in Google Workspace Applications
- The ability to travel occasionally throughout the Midwest including overnight stays
- Experience supervising a small team
Work Context:
- Frequent work operating a computer in an office (or home office) setting.
- Frequently sedentary with occasional fieldwork requiring walking and lifting 20lbs.
- Frequently communicates with coworkers and clients about project work and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information in these situations.
