VENUE: At Government Secondary School, Bagado Chikun LGA, Nigeria.

The workshop covered a range of topics, including:

-The theme "Where Spatial Meets Everything"

The learners were taught the definition of GIS, as the geographic Information System. The history of GIS. The father of GIS is Roger Tomlinson.

History of ESRI when ESRI was founded in 1969 by Jack Dangermond and his wife Laura.

The learners learn how maps and spatial data can be used in solving real world challenges. Examples like climate change, insecurity, flooding, deforestation ocean pollution and biodiversity loss.

They learn the components of GIS and types of data as spatial data and non spatial data (attribute data).

The learners learn the application of GIS in all fields of human endeavors.

How ESRI provides all the software for solving every challenges facing mankind.

The learners were taught on Drones: as a technology for capturing high resolution aerial imagery and data about the world.

Drones can be used in Agriculture, construction, urban planning and security.

GIS Day Data collection.

We mapped tree and collected data (tree) a deciduous tree, it have leaves and they lose their leaves each year.

The Local bean tree; its botanical name is Parkia biglobosa is a tropical tree most found in West Africa.

We show the learners different maps and explained how map can be used in solving environmental challenges.

All the maps and materials were provided by ESRI.  The learners express gratitude to ESRI for their support and look forward to future collaboration
