We have successfully celebrated GIS Day 2025 by hosting an informative internal webinar focused on the global theme, "Geo-Generalist Era: Where Spatial Meets Everything." At RedPlanet, KL. The event was specifically designed to promote geospatial awareness among our colleagues and introduce them to the power of ArcGIS technologies.

Key Highlights from the Webinar

The agenda centered on two core areas: a foundational understanding of our Web GIS platform and a practical, real-world application showcase.

  • Understanding ArcGIS Enterprise:
    • We provided a comprehensive introduction to ArcGIS Enterprise, detailing how its four main components work together.
    • The presentation clarified how this complete Web GIS platform is deployed on our own infrastructure, enabling secure, robust mapping, analysis, and data sharing across the organization.
  • Showcase: Solving Real-World Problems with ArcGIS Pro:
    • A highlight of the session was demonstrating the practical application of ArcGIS Pro to solve a critical real-world problem: flood risk analysis.

The presentation illustrated how the "bathtub model method" was used to effectively identify and assess flood risk on company assets. This example reinforced the importance of spatial analysis for planning and mitigation strategies.

Promoting Geospatial Awareness

The GIS Day 2025 webinar successfully promoted the idea that GIS is no longer a specialized silo, but a crucial component of the "geo-generalist era."

This event successfully introduced colleagues to the main technologies that underpin our spatial operations. By showcasing ArcGIS Enterprise as the secure, scalable foundation and ArcGIS Pro as the powerful analytical tool, we achieved our goal of promoting geospatial awareness and encouraging attendees to see where spatial data can meet and enhance their own professional domains.

We sincerely thank all our colleagues for their enthusiastic participation in this year's GIS Day celebration. We look forward to fostering further integration of geospatial intelligence across RedPlanet, utilizing these powerful technologies to drive innovation and informed decision-making.
