Select by Location: Spatial Selection Methods Drop Down

In ArcGIS 10 ESRI has changed the language of the items contained within the select by location spatial selections drop down. It is hard for me to read because it is so verbose. As seen in the image below.

In the older versions of Arc GIS the drop down was much easier to read. For example: intersect, are within a distance of, completely contain, are completely within, have their center in... etc.

Is there a way to get this simpler wording back? If this question is not clear, please ask for clarification thanks

The short answer is no. But you can vote for changes in ArcMap on their ideas website. This is the place to suggest tweaks, improvements or in this case just go back to the old school way of doing it. As you have discovered new is not always better...
