Hi,

I have a few (very) irregular polygons that I need to place 30 samples within, but I want the samples to be regularly spaced (i.e. on a grid). I could use ESRI fish net and ET Geowizards, but I don't want to be counting out how many points are in each polygon and then resampling and clipping until I find 30. Is there another way around this?

I am running ArcMap 10.2 on an ArcView licence (so any suggestions of Parcel Editor won't work either).

Has anyone tried Geospatial Modelling Environment?

Thanks!

Hi Xing Lee

Does the grid need to align with the major axis of the polygons or can it be aligned north-south?

Thanks

Probably on the angle of of the polygon. We have yet to test and see which gives us the best results.
