Multiple Geometries for Web Tool Input

I'm trying to create a web tool that will accept any input layer and run a spatial join to add additional attributes to the layer based on intersecting features. The tool is ready to go and just needs to be published.

Based on the instructions on publishing available in the link below (#12 in 'Configure the Web Tool' section), a web tool can only accept one geometry type:

Has anyone found a workaround to this? Ideally, I would like to publish a tool that will accept a point, line or polygon.
