merge vector data

Hi,

I am currently editing a vector dataset, which I cut in smaller segments to be able to use it in arcPad...
after editing the separated datasets, I want to bring them back together, in order to use them as a single vector dataset.

what is the best way to do this?

in case of merging them again, is there a possibility of losing data, or the assemblage to go wrong?

Either the Merge or Append tools are what you are looking for (accessed via ArcToolbox).

There is always a chance of things not going the way we think the will. Make a backup copy.

Append was the tool I used with success. My issue was that I had to manually delete some vectors in order to avoid duplicates, but fortunately it involved a small rural region with no complexity...
