To whom this may concern,

I am trying to put a netCDF file into ArcGIS 9.3, the file extension is .cdf.
In the multidimension tool, where it says on the website it should be added, it recognises the variables within the file. However when asked to select the X and Y dimensions there are no values in this field to choose and I have no idea what is meant to be in here. I have run out of ideas how to get around this but unfortunately I am new to thise. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Rebecca

I am trying this as well and having exactly the same problem.  Also when I try just converting to a table, I get no data, but it does create a table with all the fields I select.

You have probably already figured this problem out but I'll answer in case someone else runs into it.

I've been fighting with NetCDF import for about a week now. So I'm no expert, but I might have an idea: You mention that the tool recognizes the variables within the NetCDF. Did you choose and add all the variables to the list below? It seems to me that you can't select the X and Y dimensions within these selected variables. At least when I left latitude and longitude out of the variable list, I was able to select these as the X and Y dimension. I'll attach a screenshot of the tool dialog in my case (which worked more or less).

Hope this helps someone,
