Importing Excel dataset issues

I'm having issues adding a table from Excel into a species occurrences map. It needs a little processing work done so I've exported the data as a shapefile, projected it and set it in the correct coordinate system, but it still appears in a different hemisphere. The format for lat and long columns are "numbers" in Excel, but there must be some other discrepancy or compatibility problem. Any ideas?

Help...

At "D:/WRP_TEST/INDATA.xls"  I have a spread sheet.  It has one tab "MW_Tagged".

Each day I update this data.

I use geo-rover to import the .xlsx into ARC and produce a point SHAPE called "RC_SO".

I then have a nice clip-join model in my tool box.

I run this model each day to produce my "TAGGED" shape file (all I really use is the .dbf in the next step).

I'd like to make this a one click process.

Give me and example of code to mimic please

Walt.
