HELP. Merged Lines, still left with Multi-Part feature

Hello,

I'm attempting to merge numerous polylines in ArcMap.  These lines are continuous but segmented.  I've tried merging the line segments but I am left with a multi-part features.  I've also tried editting the vertices to ensure the line is continuous, but still no luck.  Could anyone provide some insight on how I can turn the segmented lines into a single line without creating a mutli-part feature?

Have you tried Dissolve? It sounds like you're describing the line example on the help page.
