Feedback Window

When I kick off a GP tool, I would expect that the feedback window would refresh when the underlying application is moved on screen.  For example, if I have ArcCatalog running a batch export and I want to move it to another window (monitor), I would expect that after I move it to the other moniter, the refresh or the feedback window would show the total completed.  Is this the expected behavior?

It seems when the feedback window needs refreshing, if you do a resize and not a move this forces the refresh to tell the user that you are at ???%, which this is good to know.  Moving messes it up, resizing refreshes the screen (either max, min at top right, or arrow bottom right, resize).  Does this make sense?

Ted,

I just tried this - perhaps I'm missing a point.
I run a GP job, I'm watching the % status bar in the bottom, and I'm moving ArcMap back and forth from window to window.

I do see the % continue to increase.

Have I got it wrong?

You got Kevin.  Maybe your machine is faster than mine, or your data is smaller than my set.  If its larger it will take more time to process, and this is where it kinda chokes, but I have a workaround, so thats good.

If you need data, holistic has a copy, and I am copying Cadastral minus Parcel Anno.

Hmmm.... just a simple model doing 3 different things on an average data set.
Machine is WinXP with 2 gigs of RAM.

I'll play with this and see if I can come up with anything.
Thanks for confirming Ted.

Kevin -

Ash has our data, so this testing may be easier with large datasets.

Have you tried on any large datasets for the refresh window, by chance?  Should I post this to support, now that you are on the gp team?
