Copy parallel not working

Hi,

I'm using the 'copy parallel' function in Editor to make parallel lines either side of a set of polyline features. I've done this many times before and had no issues, but since Monday the copy parallel function seems to have stopped working for me. It runs without throwing an error but doesn't output the new parallel lines.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the co-ordinate system - I've previously used this tool only with projected shapefiles but the data I am now applying it to is in a geographic coordinate system.

Can anyone suggest what might be going on? Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm using Arc 10.1 on a basic license.

How do you specify the distance? It will be interpreted as degrees...

Maybe the best option is to project the data, create the parallel lines and project the data back.

Thanks for responding - I got it to work. It was a projection issue causing the problem. Easily resolved!
