As you may or may not have noticed, @RobertScheitlin__GISP has not been around much lately. As such, I have asked Robert's permission to be added as an owner on this group. Nothing about this group will be changing, but just be aware that if you try to ask Robert a question, he probably won't answer.

Let's all give Robert Scheitlin a big round of applause for his many dedicated years of help and leadership to the GIS community, especially for all his many wonderful WebAppBuilder and Experience Builder Widgets.

It's hard to imagine the future of a custom widgets group without @RobertScheitlin__GISP. Thanks @JeffreyThompson2 for helping out where you can.

Hats off to Robert for his leadership of this group over the years. It's clear that he educated and inspired a lot of GIS developers through this forum and he certainly had a positive impact on GIS development at my organization.

Hey,

What widgets users need for the Experience Builder?

@LaurynasGedminas2- are you asking what (custom) widgets EB users would like to see?  If so, our users have found the following WAB custom widgets (with author) very helpful.  Enhanced Search and Identify are probably the most commonly used.

Enhanced Search (Robert Scheitlin)

Identify (Robert Scheitlin)

Popup Panel (Robert Scheitlin)

Enhanced Locate (Robert Scheitlin)

eDraw (can't remember)

Measure (can't remember)

I think some versions of these, produced by others, have been made available to the masses but I don't know how they compare to what was available in WAB.  Here is one possible replacement for eSearch and Identify > https://community.esri.com/t5/experience-builder-custom-widgets/enhanced-search-for-experience-build...

@LaurynasGedminas2 - Beyond the enhanced search widget I loved the Toggle Layers (not sure if that was also from Robert) in WAB. I am really missing the Toggle Layers in Experience Builder 😞

Currently I am looking for a widget that would allow me to use a button to toggle a layer (switch on the configured layer and switch off other configured layers, e.g. from a group) so I would have in the end for example 5 buttons that would allow me to switch the corresponding layer on (and the others at the same time off). I don't want the user to go through the Layer visibility widget - I think the buttons would be far more intuitive.

@JeffreyThompson2- Is there a "wish list for Experience builder" place?

@Nicole_Ueberschär The Experience Builder Ideas Board is over here. You can post a concept for the ESRI Development Team there.

If you are looking for a space to post ideas for other developers, I just made one here.

Just came across this group and Robert Scheitlin's Widgets. My hat's off to this kind of custom development🤠

Robert's tools fill in the gap where ESRI came up short. The enhanced locate is a no brainer. ESRI should have allowed users to key in coordinates to locate features other then WGS84 with the search widget and or offer a different AGO Geocoder.

Has anyone deployed that tool with an updated / current version of Portal? I found the original thread with some great screen captures and instructions.

The thread is pretty old.

Enhanced Locate Widget Version 2.16 - 08/21/2020

Last post was in 2022.

Last stable version was listed as. 2.9 but the link is busted. The attachment for the files list the version as 2.16. Does anyone have the 2.9 version or updated URL that they can share that does not 404 Error.

I found the org. site that shows off the tool and it is still working which is great.

https://gis.calhouncounty.org/Parcelviewer2/

along with the REST services showing a stable 11.3

Thanks in advance!

@JeffreyThompson2

I am also interested in what @jcokin1 posted.

Let us know if this is in the works!

@jcokin1 @SarahWillett I don't know if the eLocate Widget is still working in the latest versions of Experience Builder. There have been several major breaking changes since it was originally developed, so the odds aren't great. All I can say is, try it. It will either work or it won't. If it don't work, fix it and share your fix with the Community.

The built-in Search Widget has also come a long way since this widget was initially developed and it absolutely supports custom geocoders, so I don't know if this widget still fills a gap that ESRI missed.

Thank you @JeffreyThompson2  for the quick reply!

I will gladly work on it, fix it and share..... but to do that I would LIKE to see the LAST know version from WebAppBuilder which is 2.9. I have a need for a quick fix for someone still using webAppBuilder before I turn my sights on Exp. Builder.

IF ANYONE KNOWS or HAS VERSION 2.9. Please SHARE IT / upload it to the original thread from Robert here. 👇

All the original links are broken.

I will tag @RobertScheitlin__GISP but I saw he has not logged on to the ESRI community since February of 2025.

Any help from the ESRI Community and this group would be greatly appreciated! Thank you everyone.
