Map window is empty

Using ArcGIS 10.0, Geoportal Server 1.2.2:

interactiveMap property in gpt.xml reads:

and when I go to my geoportal page and click search, the map window is empty and all properties of gptMapConfig (except LocaterGraphicURL) are empty.

Any ideas?

Got it. Badly formed xml. Should have tried to open it in an xml editor long ago.
