I need to join land slope with a forested ownership shapefile to determine forest residuals based on slope. I have been trying to use the ArcGIS Online "Terrain: Slope in Degrees" raster all day, and can't get anywhere. I've tried to convert the raster values to points, Zonal Statistics, and clip, all setting the bounding polygon in the Environments to hopefully reduce the computation time. Nothing has worked. Any advice on how to get the slope from the raster and joined with my shapefile would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up going into the properties of the Terrain raster I added to my ArcMap from ArcGIS online and adjusting the extent of the terrain to the extent of a boundary shapefile I am using. I was then able to export the raster out, change the cell size from 2m to 50m, and use it in analysis.
The files should be in the same coordinate system, preferably a projected one.
You had better provide more information regarding what you have, since there are too many place for error in the procedure should the aforementioned not be the case.
Also, what is the type of raster
Where do the files reside, their names, paths.

And when you mean join, you are probably referring to getting a summary or some measure of slope in each parcel of land. Join is a special term and I am not sure if that is the cause of the problem given, what you have dabbled with.

The raster is added into my map from ArcGIS online (https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=af25a795273440deb449b336543602be) and is projected on the fly, or so it says. I understand cell size is important, and specified a cell size in the processing environment along with a bounding polygon.
