GIS and the EV Impact on the Grid

Earlier this week members of Esri’s Electric team participated in a dialogue stream with Energy Central focusing on GIS and Electric Vehicle impact on the grid. Access to the recorded content can be requested using the following link: https://energycentral.com/o/esri/gis-ev-and-grid-dialogue-stream.

Prior to the event, we asked attendees to share about their work in the EV space. The results indicated that over 50% of respondents are currently using GIS to plan for EV rollout at their utility, however, those efforts are largely underdeveloped. Hi Cindy, thanks for posting. Certainly the onslaught of EVs will be a challenge. This dialogue stream raises some interesting points - one being that we need a plan - and that GIS provides the roadmap to help utilities answer the three tough questions - where, when and the impact to the grid.
