We are a state-owned public utility, and our line crews perform a ground inspection of our transmission lines/poles each year. We use Field Maps and Survey 123 to collect data with the ground inspections. However, we also perform one or two air patrols via helicopters and are looking to incorporate Quick Capture to record any high-level issues they may encounter on the line.

The issue we are having is when you click a button to place an issue over a corridor with multiple transmission lines; how do you assign it to the correct line/circuit? If there are three lines side by side and they are flying over them with one flight. They see pole top rot and click the button to record pole top....how does it assign it to the correct line / structure? We are trying to make this as fast as possible ie) quick capture. 🙂

If your data is stored in an Enterprise Geodatabase, this might be possible using Attribute Rules. You could potentially create an expression that takes the new point, intersects it with the nearest line, and applies the line # to a field in the inspection layer. There's a fantastic video that Esri put out several years ago that will guide you through this:
