I am using Kriging for the first time in the analysis of Martian Topography, and previously I have used IDW with success. I am using approximately 5 million points and I appreciate the predictive, iterative nature of this method but it is taking much longer than I would expect ( 6 hours +). I have looked the session progress and I see the Geographical transformations to be NAD and some of its variants, I would have expected the Martian Coordinate System equivalent to the data frame to be here. The points are GCS_Mars_2000_Sphere and the Projected Coordinate System Mars 2000_Equidistant cylindrical. Could this disparity be the cause of the excessive execution time?
What access point to kriging are you using?

The list of control factors is quite long, what did you use? and was it indeed for planetary coverage? or an area within?
