Hi to everyone!
I was wondering if a map in ArcGIS Online can have a connection to a database and/or real-time data? I have a file with coordinates from satellite that are updated several times a day and would like to visualize them in a map (Story Map) without having to import an Excel file every time the data is updated,
Thanks very much!!!

Hi Antonio,
Do you have ArcGIS Server? If so, you can create an XY Event Layer from the database table, and then publish the layer to ArcGIS Server. You can then add the service to the ArcGIS Online web map. When the database is updated, the web map will update as well.
Jake,
Thanks very much for your reply!
Unfortunately, we don’t have an ArcGIS Server.

The reason that I asked the question, is that their are number of non-profits that don't have the money to hire GIS/IT/Network staff and have an ArcGIS Server. In many occasions they know how to use an Access database and I was thinking if there is a way to somehow incorporate into ArcGIS Online. This will expand the things that they can do at least on a limited basis.
See this blog post: Using Python to push updates to a hosted feature service from an external source.
Thanks Randy!!!
