I am trying to establish an editing workflow that uses topology on feature classes within a versioned feature dataset. The only way I can get the topology to become active during an edit session is to have validated the topology on the full extent of the feature classes while the feature dataset is unregistered as versioned. Is this the expected behavior?
What I was hoping to be able to do was have individual editors validate the topology on their edit versions at selected extents (not the full extent); fix errors or mark exceptions; and then have these topological updates sent back to the "default" topology thru the reconcile and post process. Then when future edit versions are created, the errors will have been corrected and the topological exceptions would carry thru to the new edit versions.
