Snap to a grid for editing

Hi,

I have a line feature I'm trying to edit in ArcMap.  The shapefile projection is in global coordinates (latitudes/longitudes).  I want to modify a part of the line located between two specific latitudes.  To do that, I tried to display a longitude/latitude grid to which I would snap, but it only appears in the Layout View, not in the Data View.  Therefore I don't think I can use it (or can I?).

Is there anyway for me to generate, in the Data View, the two lines representing the parallels i need?  I though about drawing a perpendicular line using the XY tools, but this line would not be projected...

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think the tool you are looking for is the fishnet tool, it will create a gird you can snap to, but it will make the whole grid. http://mappingcenter.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=ask.answers&q=223  Another approach would be to use the find tool to get your start point and then use the distance and direction to create the line like this http://mappingcenter.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=ask.answers&q=1069
