I am using a 9.3 Single Field Locator type with a table of point features in a GDB.
The table contains a Name field (text data type). My customer wants to be able to search by Name.
This works, however, the name has to be exact. For example Starbucks rather than Starbuck or Star, to return any results.
I have the Spelling Sensitivity cranked way down, as well as candidate and match score but still need to have an exact spelling.
When I do the search interactively and choose 'Show All Candidates' I seem to get more results but I'm not sure how to make that the default when I call the locator from my custom application. I have an ArcEngine 9.3 application so 10.x is not an option.
Is there a way to specify a wildcard or otherwise search for substrings of the text field??
