Mosaic Dataset problems creating seamline

Hello,

I am trying to mosaic 250 tiles with colour balancing to create a seamless mosaic. I am having issues generating seamlines for the mosaic.

Seamlines are not generated for all the images. If less than 50 image tiles are used to generate seamlines and colour balance; the output produces a perfect seamless mosaic. Only when I add more than fifty images, seamlines for a few random image tiles are not generated. I have changed the "Maximum number of Rasters per Mosaic" to fit the numbers images I am working with.

Same issue with colour balancing - less than fifty images produces excellent result, but more than around fifty images will not generate a colour balanced image. I have build pyramids and statistics for the dataset before doing colour balancing.

I am using ArcGIS 10.3

what options were used?

are all the images the same type (exactly)

what options were used, and were all the data source compliant with the options
