'Layout view' for las profiles?

Hi,

I need to create some high-quality lidar vertical profile view figures for a manuscript. I am using Arcmap 10.4.1. I have used the ‘create las dataset’ and the ‘profile view’ tools to get the required profile on my screen. Now, is there an equivalent of a ‘layout view’ so that I can 'clean it up' and then export this to a png or pdf? Also, I’d like to add a scale bar, change the background color (black to white) and put in a legend for the color of the returns, too.

what do you have in the way of a graph (help topic) or it may be simpler to use matplotlib

The main things that I want to add is a scale bar and a legend. I don't think the graph view supports this. Is there is way to add these elements?

matplotlib or other graphics specific programs may be the way to go then
