Hey,

I have problems with clipping a raster file using a shapefile. I've downloaded a dem-raster in tiff format and I changed it to arcgis grid (since I read somewhere that this should be done first). After this I've made a shapefile of a reservoir that I need to make a TIN for(polygon.shp).

After this I opened both in Arcmap. The clipping i tried to do with the following steps:
1. Spatial analyst-> options ( general tab: analysis mask= polygon shapefile, extent=" same layer as polygon shapefile", cell size="same layer as raster grid") -> OK

2. Spatial Analyst -> raster calculator. I clicked on my raster to enter it into the expression box. Then I clicked evaluate.

When I do this I get the following error message: " ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression"

What am I doing wrong? I would highly appreciate any help I can get!!

Regards,
Helena

Hi Helena

Use the Clip function in Data Management \ Raster \ Raster Processing !
If you have a feature class with several shapes you may select a shape and use that.

set the checkmark in "Clipping geometry"
You don't have to bother with environment settings execept if you have special requirements in "Raster storage"
