Georeferencing JP2 files

I recently georeferenced a bunch of historic property maps and they are jp2 files. Is this going to lead to any issues down the road for me or are they basically the same as jpegs? I don't really know anything about the jp2 format.

Hi Michael,

This will not cause any problems.  JP2 are similar to JPG, but they use JPEG2000 compression.  See the following link for more information on compression:
