Hello everybody, I´m trying to connect my ArcGIS Desktop to an Oracle Spatial 10g Database, without ArcSDE, to load into an ArcMap some Spatial Features stored inside. I'm Trying but I can´t even pass the Spatial Database Connection Dialog.
So, my questions are:  First, is it possible to connect ArcGIS9x or 10 to an Oracle Spatial 10g Database without an ArcSDE installed.
Second, if it is possible, is it possible then to Load and edit Features stored inside this DB, with Arcmap, or the information connected on this way is read only without the SDE instance?
Can some one guide me or tell me where can I found some information with examples about this issue. The ArcGIS Help dosen't help very much. I've got the Oracle client installed on my computer.

Thanks to all

-No, you cannot connect to the Oracle Database using a Spatial Database Connection.  You will want to create a Query Layer to view your SDO geometry data.  This query layer will be a read-only layer.

At 10.1 you will be able to connect to an Oracle Database without SDE being installed and view/create Oracle Spatial data through a spatial database connection.  Take a look at the following forum for more information.

Dear Jake, thank you very much for your reply, it'll save me a lot of time of useless testing sessions. I'll be waiting then for the 10.1 version release.

Thanks a lot again,
Greetings
