Auto choose Geographic transformation

I have a problem when I try to use Project tool.

when I try to reproject a shape file to other GCS the tool not Auto choose Geographic transformation.

that in using ArcGIS 10.1 . But when I use ArcGIS 10.2.2 and with same GCS it auto choose the appropriate geographic transformation.

That is a ways back, you would have to check the help documents for 10.1 and 10.2 to see if it was added between versions.  I don't have the changes list going back as far as 10.1 but the help topics are in this link in the left column

It is the first time for me to know that , if the data frame has unknown spatial reference disable Auto choose Geographic transformation in Project tool.
