Hi Folks,

I am looking to import an approximately 10 x 10 km region of the ArcMap basemap (specifically the "imagery" basemap).  The region I am interested in has very poor imagery in google earth, but when I viewed the region in ArcMap using the basemap, the imagery is areal ortho photos, so VERY high quality.  I want to take this small region, clip it, and export it into Google Earth to view it in 3D.

Any thoughts?   The Ortho imagery also only displays at certain scales, so I have to be quite zoomed in, in order to see it, not sure how to clip a larger area  of the ortho imagery than the visible extent,

Thanks!!

Arc basemaps are protected from the kind of hijacking you are proposing.
The only way I could see to do it is to use arcpy.mapping to move from block to block
exporting contiguous tiles as georeferenced images from the data frame.

A lot of work, and not likely to be very satisfactory.
