Can a Calcite panel slide open?

Hello.

Is there an option/property that would cause a Calcite panel to slide open/closed more 'gracefully' rather than the more abrupt transition that it makes now? And is there a option/property that would cause the panel to slide over a map rather than pushing the map to the side when the panel opens? 

Even in the Esri Map Viewer, for example the Properties Panel, the map is pushed to the left when the panel is opened (and back to the right when the panel is closed). Its a bit visually startling to be looking at one place on the map and then have the map get pushed over (and eye have to move and refocus) when opening / closing a panel.

I had the opposite issue. I was trying for the side panel to push over the map rather that overlay it.
